Project Objective
Assist in the promotion of music group Spiritbox by creating looping video asset within established branding guidelines for a music video, as well as a short promo clip in anticipation of music video release.

Prepared butterfly 3D file for animation by rigging model in Cinema 4D
Provided low-res viewport render of motion for client approval
Upscaled model geometry and textures to 4K
Changed texture to pearlescent blue as per client instruction
Rendered full resolution stills for client approval
Rendered full quality sequences of different camera angles
Rigging / Motion
After rigging the 3D butterfly model, several layers of subtle motion were added to wings and antennae, ensuring the motion looped seamlessly every 40 seconds.

Texturing / Lighting / Rendering
Normal and bump maps were applied to the model to achieve a more interesting and realistic pearlescent butterfly wing texture.
Instagram Promo
To build interest for the full length music video, I created an Instagram promo clip by rendering out a short sequence from a different camera angle.
